PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
A rustic elongated heart shaped pendant from Israel. It appears to be plated in gold, or perhaps bronze, however we will state its composition as unknown for the purpose of accuracy.
KNOWN HISTORY
This piece was given to us by one of our very close contacts in Israel. We were there for a meeting of the minds/Investigation, and had several more places we had to go before heading back home to the states. During our time there we stayed at the home of our close contact. Before leaving she gave us this. She explained Do not let the diminutive physical stance of this piece fool you. Its perfectly okay if you let it fool others though ;-)
This piece is a direct connection to Saint Christopher and the Collective Energy of his House of Prayers; containing the Purest, Immortal Essence of all the Intentional Energies that have been directed to the Heavens through Prayers to Him. It calls upon the Heart of Saint Christopher and the House of Divine Sainthood to give you Guidance when you are at a crossroads or a path which you fear but must take, and to give you Protection when traveling anywhere outside of your house.
Holding the Love and Experience of the Heart of Saint Christopher, this piece will bring you Protection and Guidance, as he is a man who was himself, in life, a traveler, and in his journey he found his true destination in the service of Christ and Others.
St. Christopher was a 3rd Century Canaanite, of what is modern day Israel, the West Bank, Gaza Strip and parts of Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. He was huge, at 7.5 feet tall, he was a man of immense strength whose given name was actually Reprobus. He once served the King of Canaan, who he believed to be the Greatest King there was, until he learned that this King feared the Devil. So, he left in search of the Devil, whom he found and served, until learning that the Devil feared Christ. So, he left the Devil’s service and set out on a journey to find Christ.
On the way, he ran into a hermit, who told him all about the Christian Faith. The hermit also recommended Reprobus take up fasting and prayer to serve God, which, being the huge dude he was, fasting wasn’t exactly the hottest idea. Then the hermit recommended he use his strength to help travelers cross a dangerous riverbed – a service that suited him perfectly.
One day a child arrived who needed to be carried across the river. So, Reprobus took the boy upon his shoulders, but as he crossed the river, the child seemed to get heavier and heavier, to the point Reprobus thought they'd both go under and drown. He asked him why he was so heavy, and the child revealed that he was Jesus Christ, heavy with the weight of the world's sins.
Not one to give up, and probably in a state of shock and awe, despite tremendous difficulty, carrying all the weight of all the sins of the world upon his shoulders, he forged ahead with all of his strength and crossed the river with the Christ child on his shoulders.
When they reached the opposite bank, Christ asked Reprobus to press his staff into the ground. When he did, the staff turned into a beautiful flowering tree, and he was rewarded.
Christ then baptized Reprobus in the river and gave him his Christian name which - Christopher - means "Christ-bearer".
And so, just as Saint Christopher maneuvered through life's obstacles to find Divine Truth and Purpose, just as he forged ahead crossing the River despite tremendous difficulty, fear, and pressure, so too will he light your path organically with Guidance and Protection.
Whether you are going to the corner store or supermarket, taking a road trip or simply taking your kids to school, whether you're out on the boat or ferry, going out of the country or just going for a walk, Saint Christopher will always be with you by wearing this amulet or keeping it with you.
