A beautifully intricate gilded, highly detailed vintage urn pendant in great condition for its age of almost 60 years. A truly unusual and gorgeous piece that is well worth it's vintage and occult value.
This piece came to be thanks to the powerful work of an elite Priestess from Ancient Egypt named Hemitra. Hemitra walked the Earth about 3,200 years ago, during the time of the Ramesses II, also known as Ramesses the Great, who is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the New Kingdom, who built more monuments and sired more children (more than 100!) than any other Egyptian king.
Ramesses’ chief Queen was Nefertari, whom he married after the oldest known peace treaty was established with Nefertari’s father, the Hittite King. Nefertari joined him at his new capital, Per Ramessu, also known as Piramesse, the “House of Ramesses”, in the eastern delta of the Nile. Hemitra became the primary Spiritual Priestess to Ramesses and Nefertari, personally and professionally too. She counseled them in matters of state, diplomacy, war, and all aspects of the Pharaoh’s rule.
She was the true Spiritual architect of both the palace and Per Ramessu, facilitating what would become the most influential pact in Egyptian History, between four major Egyptian deities and Ramesses.
In this pact, each of the four Gods were given their own quarter not only in his palace, but in the entire city of Per Ramessu. Each quarter was dedicated to its respective presiding God, with everything from gilded hieroglyphs and statues, music and plays honouring them, festivals and feasts, to dedicated holidays and even certain times of the day and Lunar cycle.
In exchange for bestowing each deity with their own dedicated place of honor in his city and palace, each of the Gods bestowed Ramesses with their eternal Blessings. He was given an Amulet that held their blessings. They promised abundance, love, wealth, and success; they promised his legacy would always remain the greatest in all of Egypt, and that their blessings would always be with him everywhere.
Blessings of Growth, Justice, Protection
A Goddess who is both nurturing and fierce, she is a snake-headed protector, a cobra Goddess of childbirth, children, and Kings. The symbol of justice, time, heaven and hell, Wadjet is one of the oldest Egyptian goddesses. Connected to the forces of growth (per the Pyramid Texts), she is the personification of the papyrus-filled delta, having created the papyrus swamps herself. The Pyramid Texts state that the papyrus plant emerged from Wadjet.
She is a forceful defender, while her twin in duality, Nekhebet, was seen as the motherly defender. However, Wadjet also had a nurturing side. When Set wanted to kill the baby Horus and claim the throne for himself, Wadjet helped Isis nurse the young Horus and she helped them hide from Set in the papyrus swamps of the Nile delta.
Often shown as a cobra, or as the head of the cobra, Wadjet can be seen rearing from the forehead of the rulers. In later years, the royal crowns were often decorated with two cobras in deference to her role as protector, or as the Eye of Wadjet (the Eye of Horus, the Eye of Ra).
Blessings of Love, Sex, Virility, and Beauty
A beautiful Goddess of fertility, sex, love, and war, she is a Goddess that, although is one of a number of names Canaanites and Phoenicians associated with the chief goddess or female divinity, during Ramesses' time, she was new to Egypt. Often pictured naked, she is the Syrian Aphrodite, Venus, Ishtar, Inanna; her symbols the lion, horse, sphinx, dove, and star within a circle. She has been known as the deified morning stat and/or evening star (a parallel to Lucifer) and has taken on many names and forms amongst the different cultures.
Blessings of Balance, Respect, and Protection
Originally a sky god, lord of the desert, and master of storms, disorder, and warfare, Seth embodies the necessary and creative element of violence and chaos that the ordered world needs to maintain balance. During the New Kingdom, Seth was highly regarded with high esteem as a martial god who could plant fertile seeds of discord amongst Egypt’s enemies. The Ramesside pharaohs ranked him among the greatest gods of Egypt. They used his name in their personal names and promoted the image of Seth as the protector of Ra.
Blessings of Success, Victory, Spirituality, Justice, and Guidance
Amun, “King of Gods", aka Amun-Ra and Amun-Re is a God that was important to all Ancient Egyptians, equally popular amongst both the elite and the common people of Egypt as an upholder of justice, spirituality, success, and victory. He is the most widely recorded God in all of the Egyptian pantheon, along with Osiris. A cultural fusion took place between him and the Sun God Ra, and throughout the New Kingdom he held the position of transcendental, self-created, creator deity.
After Ramesses received his Blessed Amulet, the city of Per Ramessu became no ordinary city of that time. It was a paradise around his family home, the Palace that his father, Seti, had constructed. The city transformed into an elaborate oasis, famed for its lush gardens and abundance.
One Ancient Egyptian’s description of it states, “…It is a fine district, whose like does not exist, having the layout of Thebes. It was the god Ra himself who founded it…The countryside is full of everything good, and it has food and provisions every day. Its ponds have fishes, its pools have birds…its granaries are full of barley and emmer…its ships sail forth and moor so that foods and provisions are in it every day. Joy dwells in it, and no one says “I wish I had" in it.”
And so King Ramesses went on, into life and eternity with all that the Gods promised. It is because of Hemitra’s facilitation of this pact, her deep spiritual advancement and her skill and knowledge as a Priestess, that King Ramesses still remains a household name to this day, over 3,000 years later. These Magickal blessings filled his palace and city with love, abundance, security and great wealth, that fit for a King.
What does all of this have to do with this piece here? It was created from the very Amulet that Ramesses was given, and holds the same Blessings as his.
