A Size 10, bold & intricate ring bearing a very elaborate design on the band.
The ring itself, judging from appearances, is most likely a silver & bronze alloy, with a higher silver content than bronze. This style of ring was popular throughout much of Eastern Byzantine/Crimean Tartar Europe for centuries, so it is difficult to place a precise date, however it is likely to have been produced sometime in the 17th or 18th century.

Also indicative of this era is the sapphire blue colored “gemstone”. Artisans of the era produced brightly colored “gemstones” such as this, possessing a very rich, luscious jewel tone & even color. Colored glass was used to produce rich ersatz gemstones, which were rather expensive to produce. Inexpensive faux gemstones were typically produced from molded & colored amber resin.

Also common with Artisanal faux gemstones from that era, there is a small hole in the surface of the gemstone. This is not damage, but rather, where a peg style metal embellishment would have been set. When rings such as this are unearthed, very rarely do these embellishments remain.

There are unmistakable indications of age & wear, though overall the ring is in very fine condition. But of course, some signs of wear are to be expected from a ring several centuries old. In any event, this elaborate piece of late Byzantine/Crimean Tatar jewelry is in a very good state of preservation, & is quite wearable, & could be worn & enjoyed for decades to come without endangering its integrity.
